Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

To me one of the greatest things in life is a good surprise. There's nothing like it, especially if you get to be the one creating it.
So this past week Tom & I surprised Jenny, Ben and the girls.
It took months of secret planning. I had to plot out the trip to coordinate with Jenny's schedule.
I had to create a "fake" convention to attend and a reason to call her around 4:00 pm on Thursday from the convention.
So many things could have gone wrong.
But the plan worked flawlessly.
I'll just let the video speak for itself. Enjoy!!

Say It Ain't Snow

Well it's official. In case you hadn't yet heard, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, six more weeks of winter.
What you may not have heard was that apparently it is to be the snowiest six weeks on record.
This past Sunday we woke up to this:

First we had to maneuver out our front door since the back door would not budge.
This would be my second time out of the front door since on the first trek out I forgot the camera!! Nice.

Oh and after you step off the porch you just sink. Trust me I know! So does the dog!
Then you carefully make your way around the side of the house.

Dig out your back door.

Oh and dig out your neighbor's back door - they're trapped!

And finally let your poor dog out - luckily he has long legs.
So did I mention the forecast for tomorrow...

We'd be the Dark Purple!! Yay!

A Cause For Celebration

Okay so I snore. Big deal. Plenty of people do you know.
I have endured some good natured(?) teasing about it over the years.

So when Breathe Right came out last week with this product I rejoiced.
That’s right – Breathe Right EXTRA - because regular just ain't enough for me apparently.

So far these bad boys are doing the trick, which is a good thing since I’d hate to have to go to the next level.

These are the other recommendations to reduce snoring:

• Sleep on your side (check)
• Elevate the head of your bed (check)
• Limit alcohol and medications (um, what?)
• Clear your nasal passages (Duh)
• Lose weight (Seriously – kick a girl while she’s down why don’t ya)

Oh and then there’s this little gem found in a study by the University of Zurich:
"New Swiss research has found that playing the didgeridoo can help reduce snoring and the day time sleepiness associated with the syndrome known as obstructive sleep apnoea."

In case you’re unfamiliar with this fun instrument:

And finally if none of these are effective there’s always the CPAP mask you wear to bed.
Looks like fun, no?

Although I could get this fancy shmancy CPAP pillow at Skymall.com!

Well TTFN – I’m late for didgeridoo class!

Gift Ideas for Christmas

One of my goals this year is to be more organized so I am already planning gift ideas for Christmas.  Keep in mind I haven't actually done any of the shopping but I am mulling over some products. Here are a few of my latest finds:

Not the truck but the cool antlers.  I thought this would make a great gift combined with this lovely trailer hitch critter:
The popularity of the Snuggie last year has made me inclined to go one step further and gift some lucky person on my list with this beauty - The Slanket:

And the Siamese Slanket for the "happy couple" on my gift list.
For some reason I can't quite put my finger on the name creeps me a bit.

This next one may offend the recipient so I'm not yet sure who will get this lovely Waistband Stretcher:
And in the same vein there's the piece de resistance - the Instant Face Lift Kit:
Now who wouldn't want this fabulous item, just listen to the description: "Surgery results without the pain or expense. Special tapes adhere unnoticeably with concealed, fully adjustable elastic bands, lifting sagging skin from face, eye area, neck and jaw line.  Comes with face and neck lifts and 40 tapes.  Available in two hair colors - light (blonde, gray, white) and dark (black, brown, auburn)"

Nice!
